Annie shares how she transformed her journey from Division I athlete and legal marketer into a passion for mental performance coaching. Now, she empowers athletes, including competitive tennis players like herself, to develop a winning mindset and thrive both on and off the court!
Annie Berger is a former Division I dual-sport athlete (soccer and lacrosse at Bucknell University) turned Mental Performance Coach and the founder of Match Mindset, a mental performance coaching practice that helps athletes strengthen the mental side of their game so they can compete with greater confidence, focus, and joy.
After more than a decade in legal marketing and business development for top law firms, Annie’s career path took several meaningful turns — including time spent raising her two daughters, caring for her parents through serious illness, and launching a small business helping local entrepreneurs build websites during the pandemic. When she later returned to competition through adult tennis, she faced unexpected challenges managing her Type 1 Diabetes under pressure, which led her to work with a mental performance coach. The experience transformed how she approached both sport and life, ultimately inspiring her to earn her master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology.
Through Match Mindset, Annie empowers athletes of all ages and levels to train their minds like they train their bodies — building confidence, focus, and resilience to perform at their best and rediscover the joy in competition.
When she’s not coaching clients or on the tennis court herself, Annie loves cheering on her active family — from her daughters’ youth sports to her husband’s running races — and finds endless inspiration in the lessons that competition brings to all stages of life. She lives in Westchester County, New York, with her husband, two daughters, and their goldendoodle.
